What Halo Labs and Sidearm keep about you, why, and how to have it deleted.
Halo Labs is a set of tools for Halo players. This page says what we keep about you, why, and how to have it deleted. We don't sell anything about you, show ads, or share it with anyone except as below.
Your account
You sign in with Xbox. Xbox tells us your gamertag and your Xbox ID (XUID), and the first time you sign in you give us an email, confirmed with a code. That's your account: there's no password. We keep it so you can sign in, to show your gamertag, and to email you about your account and your team's challenges.
We keep each place you're signed in (a browser, or Sidearm on a PC with its name and version) so you can see them and sign them out on Account › Devices.
Halo Stats
Halo Stats reads players' matches and records from Halo Infinite's own services: what Halo shows anyone in the game, such as your matches, results, rank and service record. We keep a copy so pages load quickly, and refresh it from Halo.
Teams and challenges
When you make or join a team, or take part in a challenge, we keep the team, its members and the challenge's messages, so the teams can see them.
Sidearm
Sidearm, our Windows app, signs in to your account. While it runs it tells Halo Labs what it's doing (online, in Halo, searching for a match, or in a match, with the mode and map), so you show on Playing Now for other members, and asks which players on your board are members. Your recordings stay on your PC.
Help Improve Sitrep
If you turn on Help Improve Sitrep (it's off until you do), Sidearm sends us pictures of Halo's kill feed from your matches, to train Sitrep to read it better. With them come your gamertag, when each picture was seen, the match clock then, what Sitrep read, your screen's size and the Halo settings that affect the feed (such as its background and HDR). The pictures show other players' gamertags as Halo shows them in the feed. Nothing else from your screen is sent, and no video or sound.
We use them only to train and test Sitrep's reader: we match each match to Halo's own record of it (its film, which says who killed whom and when) so the pictures can be labeled. They're stored privately on our storage (NetFire's S3), only our admins can reach them, and they're never published. Turn the setting off and Sidearm stops at once and deletes any pictures it hasn't sent yet. To have the pictures you've already sent deleted, email admin@halolabs.gg.
Feedback and contact
What you send through Contact Us on SaveHalo, or as feedback, is kept and emailed to us so we can answer it.
Visits
We count visits to Halo Labs with Umami, which we run ourselves. It counts pages viewed, not who you are, and sets no cookies.
Deleting your data
Email admin@halolabs.gg from the address on your account to see what we keep about you or to have it deleted: your account, your Sitrep pictures, or both. Signing out on Devices ends a device's session at once.
